Charities that use Wesley Church High Wycombe
Alcoholics Anonymous [Sat, 12:30-14:00]
Alcoholics Anonymous, or AA, is a community of people who come together with one aim: to stay sober, and help other alcoholics seeking help to stop drinking.
AA is not connected with any sect, social, religious, or political organisation or institution. It does not endorse or oppose any cause. Our only concern is to help people who have a problem with alcohol.
AA works by members coming together to share their experience, strength, and hope to support each other to stay sober and recover from alcoholism.
It doesn’t cost anything to attend AA meetings. To be a member, all that’s required is a desire to stop drinking.
One Can Trust (Clothing Bank) [Fri, 08:00-12:00]
Since 2011, One Can Trust has operated a foodbank based in High Wycombe, serving the town and the wider area of South Buckinghamshire.
In more recent times, we have set up a very successful Community Support Team offering advice, a clothes bank, toddler groups and a community café. We also provide much needed funding for a school meals programme for children who are not eligible for free school meals.
One Can Trust (First Steps Toddler Group and Next Steps Toddler Group)
[Tue, 09:00-12:00 ; Thu, 09:00-12:00]
The First Steps toddler group, started in January 2023, is invite-only for families referred through partners. It offers a safe space for toddlers to socialise and provides support to parents.
The group meets on Thursdays from 9:30 to 11:30 at a church hall near Rye Park, High Wycombe.
Next Steps toddler group, started in September 2023, is open to all in the centre of High Wycombe. It’s a drop-in session with activities for children and a social space for parents.
The group meets every Tuesday from 10am to 12pm at Wesley Methodist Church, Priory Road, High Wycombe, HP13 6HZ.
